Share a picture book with your little ones…

preschool materials 300x171It’s never too early to share books with your little ones, and that’s why we’ve created Reading Force little ones.

We’ve created a new colourful scrapbook for pre-school aged children – it’s similar to our signature scrapbook, but with more blank pages for infants to draw in, stick photographs, and collage.

One of the things we’re most excited about is the fantastic choice of picture books we have in stock to send your little ones! Inside your scrapbook you'll find a postcard voucher – fill it in, post it off to us (Freepost) and we’ll send you a FREE picture book and little ones bookmark.

Little ones bookmark 130x390Reading Force little ones works in the same way as Reading Force. Families choose a book, read it together, and have fun filling their special scrapbook. Families can submit their completed scrapbook to the bi-annual* Reading Force Competition. EVERY family who enters the competition is given a special certificate and the prize of a book for taking part, and has a chance to win other prizes too. All scrapbooks are returned to families by ‘signed for’ delivery.

To take part, you can request your scrapbook and free book online here. Help us tell other Service children and get them joining in the fun - please tell us about your child’s nursery or pre-school setting so we can get in touch with them. Or ask them to register for Reading Force (on our website), and we’ll send them scrapbooks, stickers and crayons for them to give out.

*Competition closing dates are at the end of April and October every year. In 2016 they are 30th April and 31st October - please check the competition web page for full details.

If you and your family are new to Reading Force, you need to know it is FREE for every Service family to take part. It doesn’t matter where you live (in the UK or overseas – please use BFPO addresses if you’re based overseas). You can also take part if you’re an ex-Service family, if your connection is to the Reserves or Cadets, or if a family member is retired or injured. Your family may be together at home, or a loved one may be posted away – Reading Force is for all!

If you have children of different ages, school aged children can still have their own scrapbook and claim their own free book.

Finally, a big thank you to all at Toye Box Early Years Centre in Aldershot, and children’s author Kathryn White, who helped us launch Reading Force little ones in October 2015.
